Friday the 13th & Baking Cookies!

Hey everyone! Well, it's Friday the 13th. Not like it's really anything special, I just think it's fun when it happens.

Anyways, Paul and I are getting together with some friends this evening so I decided to bust out my recent favorite version of the classic chocolate chip cookie. In stead of just settling for chocolate in the chips, this recipe gives you double the chocolate. What's not to love?! The recipe is actually based on a cookie you can get at the Main Street Bakery in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. I know, I'm a dork. Ha! Yeah, you laugh, but they're soooo good! Just give 'em a whirl and you'll see what I mean.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (best if you soften it ahead of time)
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda1/3 teaspoon salt
1 package of semisweet chocolate chunks/chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (Fahrenheit). Cream butter, sugars, vanilla, and cocoa powder. Stir in remaining ingredients and blend well. Chill dough for 30 minutes. Drop dough on cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes. Serve with a cold glass of milk or hot mug of coffee.
