I'm re-reading The Great Gatsby as a result of my book project in 2D Design. If you haven't read this book, do it NOW! Anyways, I picked up some great fabric for the cover today and found some great images I can use for the collage bit. I'm waiting for the sun to come out for the photography bit to get done. I need better lighting! Unfortunately Minnesota is being difficult and is raining constantly. I might just have to make do with the artificial lighting via my lamps. Oh well, I'm going to doctor them in photoshop anyways.
This week is my last week of classes for this semester. I'm pretty psyched to get done with classes for a few weeks and then on to my summer classes. I will miss my art history class. Although, we talked about Jackson Pollock today and my professor seems to like his work. I on the other hand can't stand Pollock. I did however find that Roy Lichtenstein pretty much thought Pollock was pompous. Another reason I like Lichtenstein, he can see through the pretentiousness of Pollock. Speaking of Lichtenstein, if you're in the Minneapolis area and haven't gone to the MIA (Minneapolis Institute of Art), go. They have a great series of Lichtenstein's work up. It shows the progression from realism to complete abstraction of a bull.
